Latin Culture Day

Within the framework of the celebration of Augustinian week, on August 29, the Social Sciences area of ​​Colegio Agustiniano Suba in Bogotá, Colombia, celebrated the “Latin Culture Day”, highlighting the diversity and cultural tradition of Latin American countries. . During the day, each class had the opportunity to represent the culture of a Latin American country through games, dances, gastronomic samples and data representative of its economy, politics and cultural traditions.

Taking advantage of the ties that unite our educational centers through the Educar Network, Colegio Agustiniano Suba contacted Latin American Augustinian educational institutions so that they could participate in the celebration, sharing a short video representative of their country, where relevant aspects of their country were displayed. culture. The invitation was very well received and the institutions of:

  • Agustiniano San Martín de Porres School, Lima - Peru

  • Santa Rita de Casia School, Lima - Peru

  • Colégio Santo Agostinho, Rìo de Janeiro – Brazil

  • Santa Rita Parish School, San Cristóbal- Dominican Republic

  • Agustiniano Technical School Ciudad de los Ninos, Cartago - Costa Rica

  • Colegio Agustiniano Cristo Rey, Caracas – Venezuela

  • San Ezequiel Moreno School, Santa Fe - Argentina

 

The videos were exposed to all the students of the Agustiniano Suba school, thus strengthening the ties of fraternity and identity with respect to Augustinian values ​​between institutions and the educational community in general.


The most representative achievement of this commemoration is that the students identified the similarities between Latin countries, appropriating their culture, and also feeling part of a great Augustinian family that transcends borders to bring a message of friendship and community to all who belong. to the great Augustinian family.
