The Augustinian Recollect educational institution has been honored at the 21st edition of the Sirenita Awards, recognizing more than 120 years of commitment to education and the community of Motril.
San Agustín School in Motril, an educational institution of the Order of Augustinian Recollects and a member of the EDUCAR Network, has received the 2026 Sirenita Award, presented by the Port Authority of Motril and the Real Club Náutico de Motril.
Now in their 21st edition, the Sirenita Awards recognize individuals, organizations and institutions whose commitment, excellence and spirit of service contribute to the development of Motril, the Costa Tropical and the province of Granada in different areas of society.
More than 120 years of education in Motril
The history of San Agustín School is deeply connected to the city of Motril and the presence of the Augustinian Recollects. The educational mission of the present-day school began in 1903, and since then, generations of students have passed through its classrooms.
For more than a century, the school has remained committed to an education inspired by Christian humanism and focused on the integral formation of each person, promoting values such as effort, solidarity and commitment.
The 2026 Sirenita Award recognizes this long-standing history and San Agustín School’s contribution to education and the wider community of Motril.
