Six EDUCAR Network schools earn the MELIOR Certification of Excellence

Schools in Spain, Venezuela, and Brazil join MELIOR, reaffirming their commitment to living out the Augustinian Recollect charism and to the continuous improvement of their educational management.

Excellence is built step by step and, within the EDUCAR Network, it is a journey we undertake together. Six schools in Spain, Venezuela, and Brazil have earned the MELIOR Certification of Excellence after completing an evaluation process aimed at strengthening their identity, recognizing their progress, and embracing new commitments for improvement.

The newly certified schools are:

• Colegio Agustiniano, Guadalajara, Spain

• Colegio Agustiniano Sagrado Corazón, Guadalajara, Spain

• Colegio Agustiniano Cristo Rey, Caracas, Venezuela

• Colegio Agustiniano San Judas Tadeo, Caracas, Venezuela

• Colegio Agustiniano Santo Tomás de Villanueva, Caracas, Venezuela

• Colégio Santo Agostinho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

With these new additions, 19 schools within the EDUCAR Network now hold the MELIOR Certification of Excellence, extending this shared commitment across different countries and educational contexts.

A journey that inspires continuous improvement

MELIOR is the EDUCAR Network’s Certification of Excellence, designed to provide schools with a tool for institutional evaluation and continuous improvement, with particular emphasis on the management of the Augustinian Recollect charism and how it is reflected both in students’ values and in the life of the entire educational community.

Its name itself reflects the meaning of this journey. Melior, from Latin, means “better” and is connected to the Augustinian idea of melioratio: a continuous process of growth and improvement, both personally and as a community.

To earn the certification, schools undertake a process that includes a commitment to continuous improvement, self-evaluation through the MEGCAR model, the identification of opportunities and commitments for improvement, and an External Peer Evaluation (EPE). Ultimately, MELIOR is awarded to schools that demonstrate an effective commitment to Augustinian values, successful management of the Augustinian Recollect charism, and an ongoing willingness to improve.

Growing as schools, moving forward as a Network

The certification of these six schools represents much more than achieving a new institutional milestone. Each evaluation process offers an opportunity to pause, reflect on the journey so far, and consider how to continue providing an education that is increasingly consistent with our identity and mission.

Spain, Venezuela, and Brazil are thus taking another step together along a path already shared by schools from different countries across the Network. MELIOR does not mark the end of a process, but rather a commitment to keep moving forward: to know ourselves better, recognize our strengths, identify what we can improve, and continue growing together.

Each newly certified school also strengthens the entire EDUCAR Network. The experiences, lessons learned, and commitments embraced by each educational community contribute to building a shared culture of quality, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
