Andrea Nicole Sumugat, alumna of the Colleg of Education of the University of Negros Occidental -Recoletos, Philippines, is one of the top 1 with a score of 92.20 in the Licensure Examinations for Professional Teachers - Elementary level. She is joined by five others from Mindanao State University, UP – Diliman, Philippine Normal University – Manila, University of Mindanao, and Cebu Technological University – Argao.
Ms. Sumugat is a consistent academic achiever. She was at the top of her class at Paglaum Village Elementary School and Junior and Senior high school at Paglaum Village National High School.
She earned her degree of Bachelor in Elementary Education- summa cum laude at UNO-R in 2022. She is the daughter of Noel and Christine Sumugat.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) announce that 24,819 elementary teachers out of 60,896 examinees (40.76%) and 48,005 secondary teachers out of 102,272 examinees (46.94%) successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (L. E. P. T.) given last March 19, 2023, in 37 testing centers all over the Philippines. It is further announced that of the 24,819 elementary teacher passers, 19,390 are first-timers, and 5,429 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 39,890 passers are first-timers, and 8,115 are repeaters. UNO-R got a 100% passing percentage for first takers in the elementary level, while 83.33% for first takers in the secondary level.
