Argentina takes a key step in educational transformation with the launch of Informatic Cor Unum in Deum - iCUID, a digital platform developed by the Order of Augustinian Recollects that integrates institutional communication, pedagogical support, and educational management into a single digital ecosystem. Friar Marcelo Corleto, OAR, explains that it is "a proposal designed to safeguard what is most valuable in our educational communities: the students and their learning processes, placing the individual at the center."

iCUID is not an isolated tool or an imported technological solution. It is a deeply rooted project, born from the heart of the international Augustinian Recollect education network, and expresses its own way of conceiving teaching, learning, and the educational community.

Official presentation of the project

In Argentina, the new digital platform for Augustinian Recollect schools, called iCUID, was officially launched on Wednesday, February 18.

The platform articulates a Relational Organized Curriculum of Nodal Units for Motivated Users (COR UNUM), inspired by UNESCO's definition of curriculum, and deploys it through Digital Nodal Itineraries of Experiences for Motivated Users (IN DEUM), designed to support and stimulate meaningful, personalized, and assessable learning processes.

The teachers, selected from a faculty of 600, have worked for two years to ensure that this tool truly places the student at the center of the educational process.

A project born from discernment and communion

Friar Marcelo Corleto, OAR, tells us that two years ago, the Reverend Father Ricardo Daniel Medina, OAR, Superior General of the Order of Augustinian Recollects in Argentina, invited him and Professor Carlos Zunino to conduct a feasibility study with a clear objective: to create a digital educational platform for the Order, aligned with its Educational Project and identity.

"For six months, a rigorous analysis process was carried out, confirming the project's viability. From there, the initial pedagogical phase began, always in accordance with Augustinian pedagogy and taking into account the specific realities of educational centers in Argentina," commented Friar Marcelo Corleto.

A collective construction at the service of education

The study phase involved 60 primary and secondary school teachers, selected from over 600 educators in Augustinian Recollect schools throughout Argentina. The teachers were chosen for their alignment with the DICAR (Dictionary of Augustinian Recollect Competencies), thus ensuring pedagogical coherence and fidelity to the charism.

Subsequently, an intensive development process began, including meetings by subject area, the definition of pedagogical criteria, and the development of content. This work extended over six months and allowed for the design of curricular units for all semesters, concluding in July 2025.

Cor Unum In Deum: the pedagogical heart of iCUID

The platform's design is inspired by a profoundly Augustinian expression: Cor Unum In Deum (one heart directed toward God). This phrase is not just a motto, but the conceptual foundation of the project.

  • COR UNUM represents the Relational Organized Curriculum of Nodal Units for Motivated Users. It is a curriculum that transcends the linear and fragmented logic of cohttp://whole.INntent, structured into interconnected nodal units based on current learning theories, allowing for the understanding of knowledge as a meaningful whole.

  • IN DEUM refers to the Digital Nodal Itineraries of Experiences for Motivated Users. Here, the student ceases to be a passive recipient and becomes the protagonist of their own learning, in pursuit of truth and the common good, supported and motivated throughout their process.

In this way, iCUID proposes personalized, meaningful and assessable learning paths that integrate knowledge, experience, reflection and inner life.

A platform with clear stages and a future projection

The development of iCUID was organized into five major stages:

  1. Feasibility

  2. Study Phase

  3. Pedagogical Design and Content Development

  4. Digitization and Materials Design

  5. Implementation

In December 2025, institutional user accounts were created (for teachers and administrative teams), and in February 2026, access was enabled for students and families. The platform can also be audited as part of educational quality assessment processes, guaranteeing transparency and continuous improvement.

"A key aspect is that iCUID is completely autonomous: it was developed from a core code belonging to the Order of Augustinian Recollects, without depending on external platforms. This ensures sustainability, identity, and freedom for its future growth," he added.

Educating time, accompanying the vine

iCUID integrates pedagogical assistants who support students, teachers, and administrative teams, strengthening the educational experience at every level. All of this is articulated within the Ordo Amoris Pedagogical Agenda, a central tool that helps organize time, talents, and responsibilities from an emotional and experiential perspective, educating in the order of love.

Friar Marcelo added at this point that "in a world marked by immediacy and the 'fleeting click,' iCUID proposes transforming every moment into an opportunity for transcendence, helping students become the architects of their own lives, with inner freedom and purpose."

A platform at the service of the EDUCAR Network

Although its initial implementation is taking place in Argentina, iCUID has a clear international focus. In the future, the platform is expected to expand to other educational centers within the EDUCAR Network in various countries around the world, fostering the exchange of materials, experiences, and best practices.

iCUID embodies a Christian and Augustinian anthropology, reflecting the Augustinian family's historical commitment to an education of excellence that is profoundly human and open to transcendence. School, families, and students thus recognize themselves as an authentic educational community that, united, seeks the truth for the common good and works together to build the City of God.

From the EDUCAR Network team, we thank Fray Marcelo Corleto, OAR, for his time and willingness during this interview.
