The new life-size image of the Virgin Mary became the center of the celebration of the Augustinian Recollect Community in San Carlos City of the Solemnity in honor of Nuestra Señora de La Salud, November 17, 2021.
The five-foot tall La Salud is made of fiber glass and studded with colored jewels. Crafted by Cebuano artisans, a benefactor of the community of Augustinian Recollects commissioned the image. The new La Salud is now housed and may be visited at Sto. Tomas de Villanueva-Recoletos Chapel.

This is the first La Salud under the custody of CST-R Campus Ministry Office under the supervision of Fr. Alviola. It arrived in 2017 and was first received by Rev. Fr. Roy Baluarte, OAR.

ls1.jpg - For the People of San Carlos. When the devotion to La Salud was first brought to the city, Rev. Fr. Rommel Rubia, OAR held lectures about the history of the devotion at the STV-R Chapel.
Viva! La Señora! Made of fiber glass and colored jewels, this La Salud is commissioned by a benefactor. It is estimated to be five feet tall. Cebuano artisans crafted this image.
Be-jeweled. This La Salud is made in Cebu and was just shipped to the Augustinian Recollect community in San Carlos City a week prior to the feast of the Lady.
The Son. These are the intricate details of the Holy Child that the La Salud holds. He is also decked in gold and jewels.
Grandeur. Even the carved angels are bathed in gold to highlight the splendor of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Devoted to the Mother of Christ. This is the fourth image of La Salud that belongs to the community in San Carlos City. The first arrived in 2017 when the devotion to the Lady of Health was re-launched nationwide.
The second was commissioned by the late Rev. Fr. Rafael E. Cabarles, OAR and is made of locally sourced molave wood. The third is the La Salud housed at the Escalera at CST-R’s St, Augustine Building, which was commissioned by Rev. Fr. Vicente Ramon, Jr., OAR.
